GOA GOVERNOR MAKES RECOMMENDATIONS TO FUEL TOURISM

The Governor of Goa, Mridula Sinha held a meeting with the Union Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge), Culture (Independent Charge) and Civil Aviation, Mahesh Sharma in New Delhi to discuss issues related to the promotion of Culture and Tourism in the country. Sinha requested that a Sanskriti Patrika should be brought by the Government in which each state will have its own edition. This will help to generate awareness about the culture of the country and also promote tourism, she said.

She further added that the slogan of Athithi Devo Bhava should be reflected in every walk of life and all steps should be taken to make the tourist comfortable. She proposed that a global University of Tourism should be set up which will function as a world class institution to impart education about the tourism industry as well as the allied services industry sector. It will be the first of its kind in India to create skilled resources for the entire industry and will be a step towards a skilled India, the Governor opined.

Sharma appreciated the efforts of the Goa Government to promote tourism in the State. He assured all assistance to the Government of Goa for the same.
