Goibibo introduces ‘Live Flight Tracking’

Online travel aggregator, Goibibo has introduced the feature of live flight tracking for 1824 daily flight schedules. The same has been launched for both domestic and international flights.

The feature enables passengers with three key aspects. To get real time data on the flight schedule, air craft type, gate number, baggage carousel information. To get notified on delays with estimated time of departure and arrival; change in terminal and gate information. Enable friends/ families of the passenger to track their journey as well as get notified on arrival information or change in schedules.

Ashish Kashyap, Founder and CEO, Ibibo Group said, “Flight tracking and status information is first of its kind. This is in line with our focus of constantly delivering unique consumer experiences and at the same enhancing our travel social network, goContacts. We have an exciting line up of innovative product releases for all our categories comprising Air, hotels, Bus and Cars.”

Tracking by friends and families is a first of its kind feature launched by Goibibo wherein the passenger is empowered to define which of his contacts should receive live updates on their journey. Presently, this feature is notification based, however Goibibo will shortly be integrating the same with its goContacts social feature making it seamless for the travellers to share their journeys with their selected groups of contacts.

Goibibo’s flights business turned profitable in 2015. The domestic air ticketing business of Goibibo has grown by more than 115 per cent which is six times the growth of the market in the last one year and also outgrowing all other OTA’s.  Mobile is becoming the primary channel for Goibibo. Mobile contributes to 65 per cent of the flight bookings and 82 per cent of hotel bookings on Goibibo.
