GOVT APPROVES NATIONAL PERMIT FOR TOURIST BUSES

All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) thanks Prime Minister Narendra Modi under whose tutelage the long pending demand of National Permit for Tourist Buses is fructified at the 36th Transport Development Council meeting held on October 28, 2014 at New Delhi.

AIMTC has never been against the revenue of the Government and has always stood for innovative, transparent and simplified solutions for the trade. National Permit for Tourist Buses is a historic step taken by the Government of India.  This revolutionary step will definitely boost national integration domestic and international tourism in a hassle free manner thus expanding economic opportunities, Generating employment, Bringing people closer thus engendering cultural cohesiveness,  Spurt inbound tourism, bring in precious foreign exchange.
Further, the new scheme will only augment the Government Revenue and bring in Transparency in the Passenger Transport Ecosystem. We hope that the new scheme will be notified soon and its benefits will percolate to the tourist bus operators and the passengers very soon. Similar scheme is also awaited for other tourist vehicles in near future. All India Motor Transport Congress and Bus Operators’ fraternity in particular can now envisage “One India” for themselves.
