India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB) has adopted the much needed multi-pronged approach to boost MICE in India. “We are planning to open four Regional State Chapters in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Jaipur. We will be having roadshows in these cities. The first roadshow has been planned in Kolkata. The purpose of the roadshows is to create business platform for our members to interact with potential conference organizers of the state,” Chander Mansharamani, Vice Chairman, ICPB, said.
Moreover, the Bureau in collaboration with Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India for the first time will be organizing an international roadshows in cities where most of the World Organizations have their headquarters such as Geneva, Brussels and London, Mansharamani said.
Meanwhile, ICPB is also working towards the bidding for international conferences. “We already had an opportunity for bidding for a large International Conference to be held in 2020. We are working on to formalize the process for all future biddings,” he informed.
The Bureau is also giving a lot of importance to skill development. “We had in the past organized two very successful certified programs in collaboration with ICCA and SITE and we will be taking it forward by organizing series of Guest lectures by international faculty and certified training programs in collaboration with international Agencies like ICCA and MPI to enhance the professional handling of the event,” Mansharamani added.
