Turkey is all set to host 40 million international tourists in the year 2018. The latest statistics suggest that Turkish Tourism is quite on the track. “The number of International tourist visiting Turkey in the first quarter of 2018 saw an increase of 32 per cent compared to the same period of 2017. Turkey is preparing to host 40 million international tourists by the end of 2018, which will be a record for the country,” Turkish Culture & Tourism Office- India, said in a release.
Meanwhile, Indian arrivals to Turkey during the first 4 months of 2018 witnessed a massive surge. “While 19,803 Indians visited Turkey from January to April last year, this figure rose to 38,471 in the same period this year. In total, the Indian tourist arrival saw an increase of 95% in the first quarter of 2018 in comparison to the same period of 2017,” the release said.
The most popular destinations in Turkey are Antalya, Istanbul, Mugla, Cappadocia and Izmir. Turkish Tourism expects to welcome 200,000 Indian visitors in 2018.
The tourist arrival from India to Turkey has seen the maximum growth in the year 2015, which is considered as one of the best year in tourism. Looking at the numbers, it is expected that the Indian market will leave behind 2015 figures, which will be an increase of 50 per cent.
