InterGlobe Hotels has concluded an acquisition of land in Hebbal, Bengaluru to build another ibis hotel in this established commercial hub of north Bengaluru. The land acquisition is part of a longstanding JV between Accor Hotels and InterGlobe Hotels established in 2004.
Currently, IGH has 15 ibis hotels operational in India with Ibis Pune Hinjewadi set launch next month and Ibis Kolkata launching early in 2018. With a total of seven hotels now under development and planning, IGH’s total inventory in India is projected to be 3,700 rooms by 2021.
Shwetank Singh, VP Development & Asset Management of InterGlobe Hotels, developers of IBIS Hotels said, “In our continuous effort to roll out ibis hotels across key strategic locations, with this acquisition, we are marking our entry into one of Bengaluru’s established commercial hub – Hebbal. ibis Hebbal will be a perfect destination catering to both leisure and business needs. We are viewing this acquisition with a great deal of optimism and will continue with our strong focus on new expansions in the future as well. We already have a key presence in the city with two properties operational – one in the City Centre and the other at Hosur Road. Ibis Hebbal will be our third project in the city. Over the past decade, with the development of large IT parks like Manyata and Karle along with various other standalone commercial buildings, Hebbal has grown into a self-sustaining metropolis and has undergone a makeover. The last 3-4 years, has witnessed a significant growth in residential developments catering to the needs of people working in these IT parks.”
Singh added, “InterGlobe Hotels as a Company is committed to continue its rapid expansion over the next few years and add world-class hotels in key locations across the country. With Hebbal, we now have 7 hotels in our committed pipeline and several other transactions in advanced stages of negotiations.”
