Jet Airways celebrates International Women’s Day with all-women flight crew

On the eve of International Women’s Day, Jet Airways, India’s full-service, premier international airline, has announced a series of external and internal initiatives that recognise, promote and celebrate the contribution of women towards its business.

Demonstrating the confidence and pride in its women employees, the airline will spread the International Women’s Day celebrations pan-India, by operating four flights staffed exclusively by an all-woman cockpit and cabin crew today, on four separate sectors. These will include flight 9W 361 between Mumbai and Delhi; flight 9W 465 between Mumbai and Chennai; flight 9W 332 from Delhi to Mumbai; and flight 9W 807 between Delhi and Bengaluru. To add a special touch to the occasion, women guests travelling onboard these flights will be given presents to mark the day.

Jet Airways will also have all-women teams to manage every aspect – technical / non-technical / operational, of these four flights, right from engineering and ground operations to cargo, ramp and airport services, covering women aircraft engineers, technicians, flight dispatchers, duty managers, counter staff, security officers and cargo personnel, highlighting the professionalism and capabilities of its women employees. Jet Airways is an equal opportunities employer and women comprise more than one-third of its workforce.

For its women guests, Jet Airways has outlined a special scheme which rewards women travellers with a flat 10 per cent savings while booking flights across its entire network via its website or the mobile App. The special fare offer is valid for all bookings as long as at least one of the travellers is a woman.

Rahul Taneja, Chief People Officer, Jet Airways said, “Jet Airways employs women in an extensive range of roles across the organisation and they have played an instrumental role in our growth and success. The International Women’s Day is an opportunity for us, to take a moment to recognise and commend the remarkable role that women play all around us and at Jet Airways and thank them for their hard work, dedication and commitment.”
