The Minister of State for Culture (Independent Charge), Tourism (Independent Charge) and Civil Aviation, Mahesh Sharma inaugurated the “Bharat Parv” in New Delhi recently. Bharat Parv is a celebration of Culture & Cuisine from different states of India being organised from 3 to 15 August 2015 in Delhi as a part of the Independence Day celebrations. Several programmes are being organised with large scale public participation to foster national integration. As part of these celebrations, the Ministry of Tourism is organising the “Bharat Parv” comprising of State Centric Food Festivals along with cultural performances at prominent locations in Delhi in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Delhi Tourism, NDMC & several other agencies.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said that the India has a long history of Art and Culture which must be taken to various parts of the world. Sharma emphasised that tourism is high on priority of the government and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become the biggest ambassador to promote India across the globe. He said that the Prime Minister has a dream to create a great Indian Image with the help of Art and Culture. The Minister said that the Tourism and Culture ministries are making all efforts to making India the most popular tourism hub in the world.
N K Sinha, Secretary, Culture and other senior officials from the Ministry were also present.
