The partnership will enhance customers’ travel experience and provide travel agents with a competitive advantage in the market
Malaysia Airlines is a long-time technology partner of Amadeus, a provider of advanced technology solutions for the global travel industry. This relationship is now further strengthened with the deployment of Malaysia Airlines’ NDC-sourced content for Amadeus connected travel agents in India.
Enrolling in the New Distribution Capability (NDC) platform provides significant opportunities for travel agents, granting access to exclusive lowest promotional fares and a suite of value-added services such as ancillaries including extra baggage, seat selection and lounge access with attractive rates. This will give travel agents a competitive edge to offer exclusive deals for Malaysia Airline’s customers both in the NDC platform and on Malaysia Airlines’ website.
Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines from Malaysia Aviation Group commented, “Malaysia Airlines’ adoption of NDC is a significant step towards modernizing airline retail. Our partnership with Amadeus has been crucial in achieving our transformation goals. With NDC, we look forward to enhancing the shopping experience and allowing customers to personalize their travels, supporting our vision of becoming Asia’s leading travel and aviation services group.”
Javier Laforgue, Executive Vice President, Travel Unit & Managing Director, Asia Pacific says, “Our partnership with Malaysia Airlines is another major milestone in our strategy to provide deep end-to-end integrations of content via NDC into the travel seller’s technical ecosystem, as well as supporting the industry’s ongoing retailing journey. With this deployment of NDC, we start building on the momentum made over the years to support modern retailing and once more demonstrating our commitment to continue offering through the Amadeus Travel Platform more travel content globally and at scale.”
The technology agreement between Malaysia Airlines and Amadeus is a testament to the strength of the partnership between the two companies. In 2022, the carrier renewed its Amadeus Altéa Passenger Service System (PSS) contract in addition to adopting a host of advanced technology solutions.
