Malaysia Aviation Group announced the appointment of two new Non-Executive Directors, Tan Sri Dr. Zulhasnan Rafique and Faridah Bakar Ali, to the MAG and Malaysia Airlines Berhad’s (MAB) Board of Directors (the ‘Board’) with effect from 14 July 2022.
With more than 25 years of business experience, Tan Sri Dr. Zulhasnan began his career as a Commissioned Officer and Fighter Pilot at the Royal Malaysian Air Force, retiring with the rank of Major (Air). He also served on several boards namely Island & Peninsular, Aircraft Inspection Repair & Overhaul Depot, and Kuantan Flour Mills Berhad, besides serving in the Malaysian Cabinet for 5 years as the Federal Territories Minister and Deputy Federal Territories Minister. He was appointed as the Malaysian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary with Ministerial status to the United States of America from 2017 to 2018.
Faridah is currently working on the role of the Chief Financial Officer of Khazanah Nasional Berhad after serving PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia and BP Malaysia. She also is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
