MOT CONDUCTS WORKSHOP ON HOMESTAY SCHEME

The Ministry of Tourism, Govt.of India, New Delhi has been highlighting the “Incredible India Bed and Breakfast/Homestay Establishments”, with the aim to provide an altogether Indian ethnic Experience of comfortable home stay, local culture, cuisine, customs and traditions with good standards of facilities and services at an affordable cost to the tourists to make their stay a memorable one and also supplement the availability of accommodation.

As part of the 100 Days Plan, India Tourism, Mumbai, along with Maharashtra Tourism  organised a Sensitisation Workshop to promote the “Incredible India Bed and Breakfast/Homestay Establishments” Scheme in Mumbai. The workshop was well attended by the travel trade and hotel associations, tourist guides and already running Bed and Breakfast owners who shared their experience. The workshop was presided over by Dr. Jagdish Patil, Managing Director, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) and Satish Soni, Joint Managing Director, MTDC. The workshop was aimed to sensitise the people to come up and offer their extra rooms to the tourist which will help to meet the shortage of hotel rooms in the country.
