The aim of this masterclass was to provide the state tourism offerings and the recent initiatives launched by the MP state tourism board

The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board hosted Tourism Masterclass at Madhya Pradesh Bhawan in Delhi on July 4, 2024.

The aim was to familiarise them with the state’s latest tourism offerings and the recent initiatives launched by the state tourism board. The masterclass was conducted for the travel trade fraternity, including travel agents and tour operators.

Bidisha Mukherjee, Additional Managing Director, MPTB stated, “There has been a remarkable surge in the tourist footfall in the state from 34.1 million to 112.1 million, underscoring the state’s increasing popularity as a preferred tourist destination.”

This workshop, she said aimed at equipping travel professionals with the new updates and insights of the state’s offerings. She emphasised the interactive and informative sessions that will help the professionals in designing new itineraries and staying ahead in the tourism industry while also looking at MP as a leading tourism destination.

“Whenever a tourist comes to your place, he comes prepared. He has googled everything. He knows what destinations and places to explore,” she further added. The transformation of the tourism industry and the need for travel professionals to meet the evolving expectations of well-informed tourists is crucial, she stressed.

The masterclass also addressed the dynamic changes of the tourism industry, evolving tourist patterns, showcased MP’s diverse attractions like historical landmarks, wildlife sanctuaries, off-beat destinations and focusing on spiritual and cultural corridors.

Known as the ‘Tiger State of India’, the state boasts 12 national parks, 6 tiger reserves and 24 wildlife sanctuaries. Recent initiatives include reintroduction of Cheetahs into national parks. Additionally, the state also introduced an intra air service Paryatan Vayu Sewa that connects not only 5 major metropolitan cities but Khajuraho, Rewa and Singrauli. Another notable initiative is the establishment of a handloom village in Pranpur near Chanderi village to offer immersive experiences in the art and craft industry.
