Nijhawan Group organises 3 familiarisation trips in Sept. to educate trade partners

“Nijhawan Group aims to provide firsthand exposure to the travel trade through these FAMs and further empower agents to better position and sell these products to their clients, enhancing the overall value proposition of the hotels and resorts in the global market,” said Priyanka Nijhawan, Director-Representations, Nijhawan Group.

Nijhawan Group, the leading hospitality and tourism representation company in India, successfully organised three exclusive familiarisation (FAM) trips for select B2B trade partners covering FIT and MICE travel in the month of September 2024, setting a benchmark for the industry.

Aiming to showcase the offerings of Onyx Hospitality Group and Aitken Spence Travels Limited, these trips were meticulously designed to educate trade partners on the diverse offerings and provide travel agents with firsthand knowledge of the exceptional products and services offered.

A total of two back-to-back familiarisations were organised for Onyx Hospitality Group and TopGolf, in collaboration with esteemed partners like Tourism Authority of Thailand, Air India and Indigo. One of the highlights was an all-women FAM trip to Phuket, designed to provide an exclusive experience for female agents to enable them to curate itineraries specially for women travellers, showcasing Thailand as a safe destination for women and Amari Phuket and Ozo Phuket as preferred stay options. This FAM trip stood out for its emphasis on highlighting Onyx Hospitality Group and showcasing Phuket’s friendliness as a welcoming destination.

The second Onyx Hospitality FAM focused on MICE travel, with a detailed 4-day itinerary covering Bangkok and Pattaya featuring an exploration of top-tier properties, including Ozo Pattaya, Amari Pattaya, Amari Bangkok and Shama Service Apartments showcasing the MICE offerings of the properties. Both FAM trips brought together 10 MICE and leisure agents in each group, along with a representative from Nijhawan Group. The goal was to introduce Onyx Hospitality Group’s properties to key figures in the Indian travel industry and to create customised itineraries for travellers and groups who favour Onyx as their hotel of choice.

Expanding their FAM efforts beyond Thailand, Nijhawan Group conducted a third trip in collaboration with Aitken Spence Travels Limited. This FAM was an exploration of the vibrant island of Sri Lanka, bringing together 16 MICE agents from across India. Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage, scenic landscapes, and emerging appeal as a MICE and leisure travel destination made it a strategic focus for the FAM trip. The detailed itinerary showcased the country’s diverse offerings, from luxury resorts to adventure tourism opportunities, further strengthening its positioning in India.

Through their successful execution of these FAM trips, Nijhawan Group continues to demonstrate its leadership in the travel and hospitality industry. By providing valuable exposure and business insights to trade partners, the group is ensuring better market visibility for their clients, Onyx Hospitality Group, TopGolf and Aitken Spence Travels Limited, while fostering stronger partnerships that will translate into increased sales and sustained growth.

Priyanka Nijhawan, Director-Representations, Nijhawan Group said, “With a firm belief in the value of providing exclusivity to hand-picked travel trade and cooperation with key industry stakeholders, these FAM trips enabled trade partners to explore Thailand and Sri Lanka, enhancing their knowledge, and gaining a comprehensive view of the versatile offerings and experiences of our clients.”

“Nijhawan Group aims to provide firsthand exposure to the travel trade through these FAMs and further empower agents to better position and sell these products to their clients, enhancing the overall value proposition of the hotels and resorts in the global market,” added Nijhawan.

She further added, “These FAM trips are part of Nijhawan Group’s broader strategy to provide unparalleled experiences and knowledge to their partners, contributing to the growth of their clients’ presence in India. With each trip, Nijhawan Group reaffirms its commitment to driving excellence in hospitality sales, ensuring that Indian agents are well-equipped to cater to the evolving needs of the travel industry.”
