Qatar Airways’ highly anticipated A380 aircraft will soon touchdown in Bangkok, Thailand, following the overwhelming success of its inaugural service to London Heathrow. The airline is scheduled to commence A380 service between Doha and Paris Charles De Gaulle, followed by an additional London service by the end of the year. And now, Qatar Airways is ready to bring this state-of-the-art aircraft to Thailand.
Beginning 5 January, 2015, passengers travelling to and from Bangkok on Qatar Airways QR836/QR833 will do so aboard the new aircraft. Akbar Al Baker, Group Chief Executive, Qatar Airways said, “Bangkok is one of the most popular destinations for travellers around the world, and we recognise the importance of offering convenience coupled with our five-star service to passengers flying to Bangkok from Doha’s Hamad International Airport. Thanks to its popularity we have witnessed a steady growth in terms of the number of passengers flying to Bangkok over the years. Additionally, the number of Thai passengers who travel with us to destinations around the world has also increased significantly. Therefore, we are very much looking forward to kicking off the new year by introducing our new A380 aircraft to Bangkok and providing these passengers with our signature service.”
The First Class cabin features eight suites on the upper deck in a 1-2-1 configuration. Each seat features a 90” pitch with a fully lie-flat bed, 26” HD in-flight entertainment screen and direct aisle access. The First Class cabin also offers features exclusive spa-like bathrooms with luxurious amenities. The Qatar Airways A380 Business Class cabin features 48 seats on the upper deck in a 1-2-1 configuration, with an 80” full flat bed, 17” HD in-flight entertainment screen and direct aisle access.
There are two Economy Class cabins on the Qatar Airways A380, with 56 seats on the upper deck in a 2-4-2 configuration, and 405 seats on the main deck in a 3-4-3 configuration. Each Economy Class seat is 18.5” wide with a 32” pitch and features a 10.6” in-flight entertainment screen. The upper deck also features a spacious inflight lounge offering Premium passengers an escape from the typical airplane environment, which is unique to the A380. Another key feature of Qatar Airways’ A380 service is its in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity for all passengers.
