Royal Caribbean International’s Symphony of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world, is set to be launched in the month of April this year. It took 36 months with 4700 builders and crew members to create this unparalleled maritime architecture.
With its launch, TIRUN, the exclusive Indian representative of Royal Caribbean Cruises, will also be able to offer Indian travelers a chance to experience a cruise onboard an architectural wonder and a matchless joyride that is the Symphony of the Seas. Commenting on the launch, Ratna Chadha, Co-Founder and CEO, TIRUN said, “Pushing the envelope of innovation, Symphony of the Seas has redefined the idea of cruise ships by a long margin. RCI’s Oasis class has always been a trend-setter in terms of design, amenities and infrastructure, but with this ship, it has managed to take cruise vacationing to an all new level. We are proud to welcome this royal new member to the RCI family, and we firmly believe that this fine example of hard work, technological brilliance and resource collaboration will embark upon boundless adventures, creating everlasting memories and innumerable happy guests in the process!”
Symphony of the Seas is the 25th ship in RCI’s fleet. Weighing a mammoth 228, 081 gross registered tonnes, it undoubtedly is the Goliath of the seas, measuring 238 ft tall and 1,188 ft long. With a capacity to welcome 5,518 guests at double occupancy in 2,759 state rooms, it also includes 28 additional balcony rooms that overlook the ocean or the signature Boardwalk neighbourhood, one of the seven distinctive neighbourhoods punctuating the Symphony!
Symphony has focused heavily on delivering the definitive family adventure. It starts with the Ultimate Family suite, a two-level suite equipped with room-to-room slides, LEGO walls, air-hockey tables and even a 3D Cinema Theater! The excitement just continues to grow as one steps out, with a full-size whirlpool and the longest slide at sea, called the Ultimate Abyss, along with a slew of other adventure rides, for families to bond over amidst shrieks, roars, and laughter! Lest we forget, the ship has also introduced Royal Caribbean’s first glow-in-the-dark laser tag game, Battle for Planet, in a space-bound adventure that will see teams go head-to-head to lay claim on the last planet in the galaxy. For those who like to grab every opportunity to exercise their gray matter, Escape the Rubicon-an escape room game- will prove to be the ultimate race against the clock, with the goal of solving a collection of puzzles before time runs out!
Symphony of the Seas’ maiden 7-night Mediterranean voyage departs on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from Barcelona, Spain, where the 2,200 international crew members, proudly representing 77 countries around the world, will initiate the journey amidst rousing celebrations. The ship will then homeport in Barcelona for the summer, visiting Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Provence, France; and Florence/Pisa, Rome and Naples, Italy.
