The 22nd edition of SATTE, South Asia’s leading travel trade show slated to be held from January 29-31, 2015 in Pragati Maidan New Delhi, continues to receive overwhelming response from buyers from overseas countries and India. Despite SATTE 2015 being 3 months away, it has recorded registration from 106 foreign buyers from over 40 countries and 426 Indian buyers from 48 cities of India. The trend indicates that buyers from several new countries have registered for SATTE 2015.
The surge in the registration of buyers is the result of Narendra Modi-led government’s renewed thrusts on tourism. Modi government has identified tourism as one of the main areas that can contribute to government’s effort towards employment generation and poverty alleviation. The Ministry of Tourism has already initiated a series of marketing initiatives to make India as a must-see tourism destination. Apart from expediting the implementation of e-Visa schemes to draw more inbound tourists, the Ministry has started promoting niche segments such as golf, Buddhism, medical and wellness and adventure among others. SATTE expects to welcome a record number of buyers for it’s 22nd edition.
