Digital travel platform Agoda is signaling a growing trend of Indians looking to celebrate New Year’s Eve abroad. Agoda noted a 53% increase in international accommodation searches by Indian travellers for the holiday compared to last year. This rise highlights the evolving preferences of Indian travelers, who are increasingly seeking international experiences to ring in the New Year.
Phuket has emerged as the most popular international destination for Indian travelers this year, replacing Bangkok. Following Phuket are Dubai, Bangkok, Pattaya, and Bali, showcasing a strong preference for beach and city destinations across Asia and the Middle East.
Krishna Rathi, Senior Country Director India Subcontinent and MEA at Agoda, said, “The 53% search increase for outbound travel reflects the growing enthusiasm among Indians to go abroad during the holiday season.
