The responsibility for organizing cultural programs and road shows has been assigned to the Culture Department and the Information and Public Relations Department.
Uttar Pradesh’s Tourism and Culture Minister, Jaiveer Singh, has directed officials to undertake comprehensive promotional activities for Mahakumbh 2025, one of the world’s largest religious gatherings. During a review meeting of various cultural and tourism projects related to the upcoming event, the minister emphasized the need to engage youth, women, and students in the spiritual and cultural significance of the MahaKumbh. To enhance awareness, promotional road shows and cultural programs will be organized across the state and other major cities, including Nasik, Ujjain, and Haridwar.
The tourism minister also instructed that Mahakumbh should be made a divine and extraordinary experience for pilgrims, highlighting India’s rich cultural heritage and history. As part of these efforts, the Culture Department has been tasked with organizing pre-Kumbh cultural evenings and encouraging artists from across all districts of Uttar Pradesh to register and participate in promotional events. Artists who wish to participate in these cultural programs can register through the department’s official website.

Additionally, the Kumbh Yatra Mobile Bus will travel across the country, showcasing the grandeur, history, and legends related to Mahakumbh through LED displays. Local cultural events will be held in collaboration with universities, colleges, and schools to inspire community participation, especially among the younger generation and their families.
All promotional activities are to be completed by December 15, 2024, in every district of Uttar Pradesh.
The minister also outlined various other events before the Kumbh including roadshows, laser shows, digital exhibitions, seminars, live competitions, Kumbh quizzes, devotional performances, fusion shows, folk dances, and short film screenings. The goal is to invite and engage the general public with respect and enthusiasm.
During the meeting, Jaiveer Singh also reviewed the preparations for Ayodhya Deepotsav 2024. International Ramleela performances by groups from Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia are planned, along with a special performance of Ramcharitmanas: Nari Shakti by 50 artists from the Maitreya Pahari troupe. He also discussed the Dev Deepawali celebrations, which aim to share the message of India’s ancient Sanatan culture worldwide. This year, a record 2.5 million lamps will be lit in Ayodhya.
The Minister also expressed dissatisfaction over the delay in construction projects for the financial year 2023-24, particularly in districts like Mainpuri, Hardoi, Etah, and others, and urged officials to expedite the work. He also reviewed the status of on-going and approved projects for the financial year 2024-25 and instructed that all tender processes be completed promptly to ensure timely execution.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary of Tourism Mukesh Kumar Meshram, Special Secretary Tourism Isha Priya, MD Raviranjan, Director of Tourism Prakhar Mishra, Dr. Srishti Dhawan from Bhatkhande University, and other officials from the Culture and Tourism Departments.
