Tourism New Zealand and Singapore Airlines announced their partnership agreement to offer special deals to families travelling from India to New Zealand. This alliance will make travelling to New Zealand more accessible for families across India. Visitors will be able to fly to Auckland and Christchurch (return) on Singapore Airlines or Silk Air for just INR 63,000 (all inclusive). This special deal will be available across travel agents and on singaporeair.com or silkair.com from February 1- 28, 2013. The fare will be valid for a travel period from March 1 – September 30 2013 and will be applicable for a minimum of 2 persons to book and travel together.
Mischa Mannix-Opie, Regional Manager, South and South East Asia – Tourism New Zealand, noted that “We have been working together with Singapore Airlines and Silk Air to identify the best way to bring value-for-money offerings to the Indian family traveler.” According to Mannix-Opie, the broad appeal of the country is behind the steady rise in visitors from India: “Indian arrivals have been on a rise to New Zealand and are currently tracking at 30,080 (+6.5 per cent) Year End November 2012. New Zealand is a destination that offers something for everyone in the family, including adventure-filled sports, rejuvenating nature activities and gourmet food and fine wine. Furthermore, with the range of Indian cuisine available in New Zealand, families can enjoy a taste of home. We are looking forward to Indian families utilizing the deals offered by Singapore Airlines to experience an unforgettable holiday in New Zealand.”
Announcing the special fare,G M Toh, General Manager India, Singapore Airlines, says “We are very pleased to partner with Tourism New Zealand to offer this special promotion. Singapore Airlines and SilkAir have been the preferred carriers for travelers on the India-New Zealand route as we offer excellent connectivity and value-for-money, with 96 flights weekly from India to Singapore and 21 flights weekly from Singapore to New Zealand”. Travelers from India will be able to fly from any of the 11 cities in India on Singapore Airlines and Silk Air to Singapore and choose from 21 weekly flights from Singapore to New Zealand.
Singapore Airlines and Silk Air have a significant network across India including Mumbai (BOM), New Delhi (DEL), Bangalore (BLR), Chennai (MAA), Kolkata (CCU), Ahmedabad (AMD), Hyderabad (HYD), Coimbatore (CJB), Kochi (COK), Trivandrum (TRV) and Vishakhapatnam (VTZ).
