Gunfire was reported at Resorts World, a hotel and a casino resort in the Philippine capital Manila recently. The Islamic State group (IS) claimed responsibility.
UFTAA is deeply shocked about the recent attack that has brought damage to the peace and lives of many in Manila. UFTAA condemns this heinous attack on the innocent and for causing threat to the peace that prevailed in this area.
Sunil Kumar R, President, UFTAA said, “On behalf of UFTAA, we express our heartfelt condolences to all those families bereaved in this ghastly act and pray for the departed souls to rest in peace and for the injured to return soon to normalcy. Our sympathies are shared with the President of Philippine Travel Agency Association(PTAA) Marlene Dado Jante, the board and members of PTAA –and we share our grief to the people of Philippines through them.”
UFTAA has always regarded Philippine a rising and prominent tourism destination of the world that has consistently grown and assures its whole-hearted support.
UFTAA maintains that Tourism is a fore-runner for accomplishing peace in the world and to continue support to Philippines to prove that we as people are above the circumstance and cannot be threatened by such cruel acts on the innocent and disturb the peace equilibrium.
