Uzbekistan Airways Appoints Arya Enterprises as its Sales & BSP Consolidator

Combined with the carrier’s aspiration to enhance its route network in India, the recent destination promotion initiatives by the country’s tourism board in the Indian market and backed by Arya’s five-decade expertise in the facilitative IATA and BSP services, the visitor numbers could see a quantum leap in the coming months and years.

In a significant aviation development, leading Central Asian carrier Uzbekistan Airways JSC has announced the appointment of Delhi-headquartered Arya Enterprises as their BSP Consolidator. Combined with the carrier’s aspiration to enhance its route network in India, the recent destination promotion initiatives by the country’s tourism board in the Indian market and backed by Arya’s expertise in the facilitative BSP services, the visitor numbers could see a quantum leap in the coming months and years. The appointment is effective from October 12, 2023. IATA registered, Arya Enterprises is a five decade old enterprise exclusively dedicated to Russia and CIS carriers.

Some 28,000 Indian visitors arrived in Uzbekistan in the pre-Covid 2019, a number now expected to witness significant growth. Indian visitor arrival numbers are estimated to have already surpassed the 2019 numbers so far this year. Uzbekistan is fast getting international attention as a tourist destination. The country welcomed 5.2 million international visitors in 2022 that included some 4.3 million visitors from the neighbouring countries, recording a growth of 283 per cent over 2021, another over 600,000 from the rest of the countries in the CIS regions, 291 percent more than in 2021, and a little over 260,000 visitors from non-CIS countries, nearly 200 percent growth over the previous year. Some 7 million foreign tourists are expected to visit Uzbekistan in 2023.

According to official from Uzbekistan Airways, “This strategic decision marks a new chapter for Uzbekistan Airways JSC. Arya Enterprises with its four decades of experience is committed to delivering exceptional service and support for all BSP – India related matters. With their expertise in Sales and settlement processes, we together aim to streamline and enhance the experience of both our valued travel agents and airline. Centralisation of the BSP Sales activities under the umbrella of Arya Enterprises Group will lead to a seamless and convenient interface for Uzbekistan Airways JSC in India.”

Overseeing the development would be Rakhimberdi Sabirov, Station Manager-Uzbekistan Airways JSC – New Delhi. Sabirov is a veteran with Uzbekistan Airways JSC for the past three decades and has been posted in some of the major cities across the world. He has been instrumental in the growth of the footprint of Uzbekistan Airways in India since the 90’s and is very focussed on the growth of the airline’s revenue from India region.

Ajay Arya, Managing Director of Arya Enterprises and Aero World Travels, comes with the experience of heading Soviet and CIS carriers for more than four decades. He has been focussed on supporting Uzbekistan Airways in all it’s endeavours and spreading its wings all over the India and beyond destinations. His initiatives have helped develop Uzbekistan as a favourable tourism and MICE destination ex India over the past couple of decades.

Uzbekistan Airways currently operates 6 flights a week ex Delhi and is looking at opportunity to expand its route network in India to cities such as Mumbai, Goa, Amritsar in the coming months. Indian passengers also have the opportunity to onward travel to destinations in the UK, Europe or the US through the carrier’s hub in Tashkent. The airline boasts of latest fleet of aircraft from Boeing and Airbus and proudly claims to be the safest and most punctual carrier in all of Central Asia.

Arya’s sister concern ‘Aero World Travels’, also headquartered in New Delhi, is also currently functioning as Passenger Sales Office to Uzbekistan Airways JSC in India since 1991 now.
