Uzbekistan Airways JSC, in collaboration with its longstanding Indian partner Arya Enterprises, launched its inaugural flight at Goa’s Manohar International Airport (GOX) in North Goa. The airline will now operate two weekly flights from GOX every Sunday and Wednesday, using a narrow-body Airbus A320 or equivalent aircraft.
The first flight landed at the Manohar International Airport on Sunday, and was greeted with a water cannon salute to honor the international carrier’s debut. A lamp-lighting ceremony was held with the airline team, and all passengers received welcome goodies, including dry fruits and neck pillows.
The flight arrived from Tashkent with 111 passengers and departed with 82, which included a group of 40 students for Russia (via Tashkent). The passengers were first time students to participate in their MBBS course in medical universities in Russia.
Sharing delight on the development, Ajay Arya, MD for ‘Arya Enterprises’, the sales & BSP consolidator for the airline in India mentions to T3, “At the outset, I’d like to announce we are delighted to be present here launching our first flight from the newly built airport GOX! Our team consists of highly experienced and well qualified members who have a long vision for the airline. All have worked relentlessly to make this flight a reality. Special thanks to Kanwarbir Singh Kalra and his team for their extended support.”
He further added, “This is our second flight launch this year and we’re looking forward to working on further increasing efficiency from all three stations i.e. New Delhi, Mumbai and Goa. It’s our pleasure and good fortune to be associated with Uzbekistan Airways JSC since day one and we look forward to an endless fruitful association in the years ahead.”
This marks Uzbekistan Airways’ second route in India in 2024, following the launch of regular flights to Mumbai on April 2, 2024.
