VFS Global has inaugurated its new Visa Application Centre (VAC) in New Delhi. Spread across 67,000 sq. ft. at the Shivaji Stadium Metro Station, the centre is VFS Global’s largest Visa Application Centre in Asia and serves 31 client governments at this centre. The Centre was inaugurated by Union Culture and Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma.
With a total of 153 counters, the centre is equipped to process in excess of 12,000 visa applications per day. Ensuring smooth movement, service, and monitoring of applications within a contiguous space, the centre sets a new standard for visa application centres globally in service innovation, design and security.
Speaking on the occasion, Vinay Malhotra, COO-South Asia, VFS Global, said informed that 2015 has been a year of milestones for VFS Global. “We serve 31 governments out of 35 governments under this one roof. We are fully confident about this Centre’s capability to host more clients and any increasing volumes. We are equipped to process 12000 visa applications a day. This is the first time we have created a waiting area. We will take efforts to provide hassle-free services. Single collection area for all passports, one-stop-shop for visa-related value added services and “flexible” operating hours allowing extension during peak period have been included to add to the ease of visa applicants, he added.
He also informed that VFS Global processed 100 millionth applications in May early this year. VFS Global now serves 48 client governments in 124 countries. “Biometrics has become the key aspects of the visa process and we offer biometric solutions in 30 missions in 113 countries. As of this month, we have completed over 29 million biometric involvements in all our centres globally,” he informed.
This entire facility offers 153 counters, multiple biometric booths with plug-and-play capability for faster turnaround times, premium Lounges for personalised service, single collection area for all passports, one-stop-shop for visa-related value added services, extended operating hours during peak season and play area for children and food court.
