Having started its operations in January 2015 with 68 frequencies weekly, Vistara has scaled up and now operates 164 frequencies a week. Vistara is now introducing double daily return flights between Delhi and Hyderabad in response to customer demand. Phee Teik Yeoh, CEO, Vistara said, “We are very pleased to extend our services on the Delhi-Hyderabad route which is immensely promising in terms of the passenger traffic it caters to.”
Speaking on the occasion, SGK Kishore, CEO, GMR Hyderabad International Airport said, “I am extremely happy about the new air service to Delhi and I am sure that this new full-service airline will give additional options to business and leisure travellers between Hyderabad and Delhi. We are committed to work closely with our new partner, Vistara to ensure that we provide the best possible experience to our passengers and add many new services in the near future.”
Furthermore, the airline has announced its foray into North East India, with the addition of Guwahati and Bagdogra to its network. From 2 April 2015, Vistara will operate daily on the Delhi-Guwahati-Bagdogra-Delhi routing, with flights already open for booking.
Speaking about the route, Yeoh said, “We’ve had lots of customers asking us to fly to the Eastern India over the past month, so we’re delighted to launch this new route in response to the customer demand. The addition of this route reaffirms our commitment to promote regional connectivity in India, and contribute to the Government’s efforts to boost trade and opening up development avenues for people in these regions. We are very happy to expand our operations to both Guhawati and Bagdogra and we feel that improved travel prospects will provide these cities with the rightful visibility they deserve.”
